Hi, I’m Jaclyn. Not long ago, some very kind and well-meaning friends asked me to start a travel blog. I declined at the time because I wondered what I had to say that hasn’t been said already, and in a much more eloquent manner than I could have said it.

After I broke my foot and suddenly found myself with an abundance of time on my hands while waiting on my foot to heal, I decided to take their advice.  So I started a travel & Bucket List blog, along with Instagram tips (Instagram.com/somethingfortravel), about the good & the not-so-good experiences I’ve had. Photography and fashion are the fun things about travel, but dealing with lost luggage and full planes are just as much a part of the adventure.

I’ve read that the key to blogging success is to write what you know. Well, my travel background is extensive.  But the world is big and no matter how much one travels, it’s never enough, so I’m still learning.  I’ve been working through a Bucket List for quite a while, and I’ll be writing about those experiences, as well. I had my own list of places to see and things to do, but picked up My Ultimate Bucket List a few years ago and  have also been working my way through the prompts in that book. There are 300 adventures to choose from, as well as room for my own.  One of the items is To Start a Blog and Keep it Going For at Least a Year.

I was an internal auditor before working as a certified travel & tourism consultant. Once my kids came along, I left the job, but continued travelling and travel planning.  When the kids got a bit older, I went back to work as an internal auditor for a legacy airline.

My undergraduate and graduate studies were in business administration, banking & finance. For the past few years I have worked as a volunteer with a nationally syndicated radio host who helps consumers save $$$ and avoid getting ripped off .💵💰

I have also been involved with several 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations which led to work in schools in Kenya, and building homes in Mexico.

I love to write and connect with people around the world. Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is a topic you’d like me to address.

Occasionally, I am available for speaking engagements or writing assignments related to travel and consumer issues.  Visit Instagram.com/jsf021 to see photos I’ve taken during my travels.
Here’s wishing you safe & happy travels ❤️
